Looking to possibly make this a Christmas gift for the wife. She works with stained glass and has spoke about a light box for tracing patterns. I dont know much about stained glass and dont want to ask her…..so….is this the same kind of box for tracing patterns? Thanks in advance and cool video.

@silentfright Did you ever get around making it? would be great to see it

i just watched your video whilst listening to Autumn Sweater (remix) by Yo La Tengo. It worked quite nicely, any of their songs probably would ;)
It’d be good to see a list of things you need in the description and also was just wondering do you rest the screen only on the four corners?
    Great video thought, thanks!

I’m a producer who films bands live on stage and I was wondering how to make a lighted box where someone can stand or put one foot on it. So i was wondering can you stand on the lighted box? And if not, do you know what kind of glass would be strong enough to support a person?

appreciate the craftsmanship but wouldve helped if you showed the finished product

you should have shown how it works…a kind of self evaluation…Could have included steps by steps procedure for better understanding…For the music its quite awkward….but the box is a great job i think….the idea is there thks for the video anyway…..i was thinking of doing a light table to trace drawing or any interesting artwork having maximun A2 size paper….:)

I truly appreciate you posting this video. I found it very helpful and plan on making a lightbox similar to yours, except it will tilt in an angle similar to my easel. I enjoyed the music and I found your hard work well worth the effort. Thank you again and great job!

I know this may not be appropriate to ask, but I have looked online to see how much it costs for a lightbox that you can just buy. I was wondering what the cost total was for you to do this entire project? I need a lightbox soon, & I’m just wondering if it’d be cheaper to just make it. By the way, you should really put like subtitled telling the products that you are using for each step.

Thanks for the video. That midi music is horrible, though.

Nice video. I am going to make a lightbox to display my logo ( theasbodisco . com) It’s for outdoor use on the side of stage at a festival. Any tips for a novice? I’m thinking about printing to acrylic and then sticking to a glass lid which would be on a box of a similar size to yours.

What were you painting with? Since I can’t see any colour, I assume it is varnish?

  17. whereamirunning says:

@oreno11 I’m guessing it took less than $100.00. I can’t be more exact because I didn’t keep receipts. You can get the lights on sale usually. The blue screen is simply a protective coating on the Acrylic. You were right on that guess. Good luck!

@jofloresz Hi Jofloresz, you win the prize for the most interesting question I have received on you-tube. I’ll just say that straight or gay, I still like to clean up after a project. Good luck with your projects.

  19. oreno11 says:

Nice video, How much do u spend to make this light box? What is the blue Screen, Acrylic?

  20. oreno11 says:

@MoroccanSword Simple like Turn Off the Volume!

  21. jofloresz says:

okay sorry but i have to ask, are you gay? i only ask because omg! a straight man that not only cleans after himself! but covers the table with paper to protect it from the paint!!!! your wife must just love you if she doesn’t she should! just tell her I said that! your the bomb! unless your gay then well, your just doing what we all expect for you to be doing gay men are so neat you gotta love them, okay thanks for the vid great box!
