I love the songs “stained glass masquerade” and “If we are the body” and it got me blogging.
Does anyone know of any good quotes about people “Playing church” and being fake? I am a Christian myself, but I try very hard to be real. I know I am not perfect and I’ll be the first to admit it and I try very hard not to judge.
Anywho, I’m blogging about it and I just wanna know your input. I’ll credit you based on whatever name you give me, or if you want to be anonymous, I’ll just state that it wasn’t my idea. I swear I won’t take anyones work.
I just want more input.
Thanks!
I don’t gossip because I don’t like how I later
I read in my Bible Study the other night, that of sinners and hypocrites, the Bible says we are to separate from the hypocrites.
I have no good thoughts about those who are hypocrites.
I like the parable that Jesus gave to us, especially the part where the enemy was able to succeed because the workers were asleep.
Matthew 13:24-30 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; 25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. 26 But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. 27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ 28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ 29 But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” ‘ ”
Tares are poisonous weeds that look just like wheat until it gets near harvest time and they don’t bear a crop.
Matthew 13:36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.” 37 He answered and said to them: “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. 38 The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. 39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. 40 Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. 41 The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, 42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
That having been said, every Christian is at a different level of faith and maturity. Someone who seems like a hypocrite today might be struggling with a besetting sin or they may be ignorant of what the Bible teaches. It could be that in a year or two they will be where you are and asking about the “hypocrites” in the church.
2 Peter 1:5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; 11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
there’s a story in the new testament about a publican who said i’m no good when others criticised non-believers
he didn’t think about others but thought of gods opinion of him
When I think of hypocrites within the church it honestly makes me want to cry.
There is a lost and dying world out there and there turning to all these things other than Christ for an answer and they see these so called Christians acting/feeling/behaving in the same way they do! What there seeing are hypocrites and what kind of impression does that give them about who Christians are?
That’s not who true Christians are, and the world needs to know that. God has placed on this earth as His witnesses and it’s time we act like it. There is only one type of Christian: Those who are controlled by Christ…who live for Him. Hypocrites are not Christians- but, I’ll tell you they can put on a front!
