Are churches justified to spend money on themselves?

Wouldn’t money be better spent on poor and needy people?
Some churches are absolutely magnificent looking but what good is all that beauty just sitting there doing, the art, stain glass windows, ornaments, statues etc. All very expensive.
Does it say in any bibles that God wants people to gather in buildings like this?
If people have faith and believe that God is everywhere then won’t a plain wooden building be ok for a community gathering?
jesus didnt have a church he was a nomad
Yes, Yes and yes. oh and no God does not say we should have buildings like that…we screw that one up all on our own
why can’t they keep up their own house…besides who made you the authority of justified or not justified things…very arrogant of you…Christians are the larges givers and have the most charities in the world…yet you still complain…
Sure; one must be able to help one self before they can help others…
Not that you care but it is the House of GOD. Why don’t you live in some old wooden building and spend the money GOD allows you to have on the poor and needy? When was the first or last time you did something to help others?
That’s why I don’t go to church.
In the Old Testament there are many pages of detailed descriptions of exactly how the lavish temple should be build, and also, many testimonies to it’s carefully polished splendor, after construction. The weights of the gold and silver used in the construction of it are mentioned. The taxes imposed on, and offerings demanded of, the common people are mentioned. The wars fought and alliances made, in order to secure this gold and silver, are mentioned. When the first temple was destroyed, the Israelites built a second glorious temple, which was also later destroyed. And so forth and so on. All of this can and has been used by later Christian churches, to justify their own expensive churches. All the glory, they say, belongs to the God of Abraham, who demands worship and praise from all His followers, and commands destruction for those who fail to follow His ways, His laws, and His commands, as given through human Prophets, and carried out by human Priests.
Any building is ok, even someone’s house or back yard. My father’s favourite congregation gathers in one of those small old timber churches from the turn of last century. It’s full of old pews because the newer chairs you see in modern churches are much more expensive than you’d think – they were quoted $100 per seat! All the curtains were hand made by one of the elderly ladies using affordable material. So here is a church that will say no to expense.
The same church, which only has a very small congregation of about 12 regulars, gave $50 to a man who showed up after the service begging for money.
Has anyone read the story of the woman and the oil and Jesus??????
Jesus specifically stated that the poor will always be among us and sometimes spending money on other things that will uplift our spiritual bodies is far more important than spending the money to feed our physical ones.
