Do you think god likes to see the big extravagent churches built in his name?

Or would he rather see that money used to help the suffering of so many of his creations. Why can’t they meet in more humble surroundings, why the expensive statues (or graven images), why all the gold color, whats with the stained glass. Is god really impressed by this stuff?

sometimes big churches are needed to reach out to the people in a big community.
think about it, a small humble church isn’t going to fit all of them

Throughout the Bible, God and his son Jesus consistently make it clear that attitude and heart condition are far more important than appearance. Aside from the fact that he doesn’t approve of any idols or images used in worship to begin with, God wouldn’t be impressed by such buildings just because of the materials used to build them and the amount of money it cost.

In part, 1 Samuel 16:7 says “..For not the way man sees is the way God sees, because mere man sees what appears to the eyes; but as for Jehovah, he sees what the heart is.”
