Do you think god likes to see the big extravagent churches built in his name?

Or would he rather see that money used to help the suffering of so many of his creations. Why can’t they meet in more humble surroundings, why the expensive statues (or graven images), why all the gold color, whats with the stained glass. Is god really impressed by this stuff?

Similar to the Christmas date delima, why do so many Christians the Roman Catholic Church, Protestants even secular Christians of all kinds either support

I attend an evangelical church but I was just wondering, why dont most modern churches have that old time beauty anymore, like stained glass windows and such?
